I just got through trying out the restore point boxterduke referenced and it still doesn't work. I then tried several more points going further back and still got that annoying error message. So I just uninstalled Guild Wars completely off my C: drive and am going to try installing on a different drive.

Do you have a ticket with GW support? if you do then keep bothering them, if not then start one.

For my firewall I get 2 confirmation messages when running a new version of GuildWars. The 1st confirmation is when you click the Gw.exe and the 2nd is on photo 3 from Poison Ivy's post. I say it still looks like there is a firewall/virus program trying to block the 2nd connection to ArenaNet for some reason.

Did swapping your Virus Scanner to Nortins fix your problem Boxerduke?

Well the reason I uninstalled AGV was because when I disabled it Wednesday night, it made the game run.
So I uninstalled it.
But the next morning there was an update and that made me get the same message that I was not able to install.

I did the restore point after that and I was able to strat the game.
I went to work and then I got everything was fine and I played all of yesterday and abit this morning before going to work and it seems fine.

Hope it stays like this, but if I get the problem again then its probably software that is interefring with GW and I'm not going to bother anymore. I will just do a complelte format of the PS since I'm due for one anyway.

i use avg, never blocks me. Norton will eventually block you out. i can almost gaurentee it.
